Consultation with vegetable growers is critical to determine the investment priorities for the National Vegetable Levy and National Potato Levy.
Up until 2006/07 this process was predominantly structured around on-farm issues with individual growers forming six representative state based product groups. A new advisory group has since formed replacing these six product groups.
The new advisory groups reflect the five strategic investment pillars outlined in VegVision 2020. These advisory groups focus on key investment areas to drive the industry strategic plan to achieve a better national industry outcome. The previous six product groups were made up of individual growers established under state based bodies. The new advisory groups are:

The advisory groups have replaced the six state-based product groups that until March 2007 provided advice on vegetable levy R&D priorities to the Vegetable Industry Advisory Committee (IAC). The new structure aims to maximise outcomes from levy-funded projects, ensuring projects address annual priorities which are consistent with VegVision 2020.
